Troy Kenneth Aikman is Kenneth and Charlyn Aikman’s son. On November 21, 1966, he was born in West Covina, California. He grew up in the California town of Cerritos. Henryetta High School was where he finished his education. He was a fantastic typist, winning the state title.

In 1984 and 1985, he attended the University of Oklahoma and played for the Oklahoma Sooners. Later, Aikman decided to attend UCLA. From 1986 to 1988, he was a member of the UCLA Bruins. He set various records and received numerous awards during his time there, including the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year.

The Dallas Cowboys selected Troy Aikman in the 1989 NFL Draft. The New Orleans Saints were his first opponents in the NFL. He has nine touchdowns, 18 interceptions, 155 throws, and 1,749 yards in his debut season. He threw for 3,445 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 302 completions in 1992.

Later, he surpassed Joe Montana’s record. The Cowboys defeated the 49ers in the NFC Championship game. He led the Cowboys to victory over the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXVII. Aikman was also a member of the Super Bowl XXVII winning team.

In 1995, he threw for more over 3,300 yards, helping the Cowboys to an NFC championship. He guided his squad to victory over the Minnesota Vikings the next year. In 1998, he missed five games. A year later, he threw for five touchdowns in a win over Washington.

He had concussions throughout the 2000 season. With a career passing record of 32,942 yards, he announced his retirement in April 2001.

Troy Aikman has aired the Super Bowl five times since his retirement. He also has a weekly radio show that he hosts. He has been Acme Brick’s spokesperson for the entirety of his career. Troy  is also the Rent-a-Center spokesman.
